Time Machine Slow?

On Mac OS X, the built-in backup feature called Time Machine can be a little, well slow.


Multi-hour backups are not uncommon if you use manual backups and automatic backups seem to be running all the time.

sudo sysctl debug.lowpri_throttle_enabled=1

Just remember to set it back again after the backup has finished (although Mac OS will do this automatically after a restart).

sudo sysctl debug.lowpri_throttle_enabled=0
